Age of veterinary assistants

The results of the survey of veterinary assistants confirmed what was already evident from the survey of training institutions in the different countries, with respect to their age.

Veterinary assistants are young people. Almost one third of veterinary nurses surveyed are under 30. Less than 10% of them are over 40.

The youth of veterinary nurses as a whole is accounted for by the newly acquired professional status for this job and the recent qualifications for veterinary assistants in the countries studied.
