Need for continued professional training

Practically all veterinary assistants surveyed said they needed continued professional training. This is hardly surprising given that only a small majority found their training adapted to their needs.

It can also be explained by the fact that veterinary assistants perform specialised tasks related to veterinary acts. Professional practice adapts itself to progress in veterinary medicine.

It is interesting to note a link between the strongly clearly expressed need for continued professional training and the fact that this does not exist in some countries studied (click here) In other countries continued professional training exists but needs developing more.
