Numbers of veterinary assistants relative to the number of practising veterinary surgeons

This ratio allows us to see how many veterinary assistants there are in different countries compared to the number of veterinary surgeons. There are more veterinary assistants when tasks are delegated by veterinary surgeons. This delegation depends on regulations and sociological factors.

Numbers vary between 1 to 4 and 1 to 1 for most countries. Romania has a surprising number, which can be explained according to reason mentioned earlier. For this reason, the figures for Romania have been left out of the chart.

For Hungary and Finland, it would appear that the role of veterinary assistants is carried out by the vets themselves.
