Veterinary assistants have not been in the profession long. Though they find fulfilment in their profession, they find that training is not very relevant to their needs. They would also like higher salaries.

Training has not been in place for long in Portugal (less than a year). Minimum salaries for veterinary assistants are above the legal minimum wage, but remain low at 500 euros.
