In most cases, these tasks are regularly required of veterinary assistants. On the other hand, not all people in charge of clinics ask veterinary assistants to look after the upkeep of professional clothing. Although the majority of veterinary assistants often carry out these tasks, a quarter of them never do. It is often more practical to sub-contract this type of work, leaving more time for more specific tasks. More specialised tasks linked to the sterilisation of medical and surgical apparatus and the disinfection of medical and surgical installations also fall into this category. Given their qualifications, this work is often entrusted to veterinary assistants.
