Secretarial work and appointment management fall into this category. A slight majority of veterinary assistants do these tasks regularly but a few say they never do them. This trend is even more apparent with respect to payment and book-keeping, where a significant minority of clinics expect this often, but more never ask veterinary nurses to do this at all. This is easily explained by the fact that written tasks can be carried out accomplished by secretaries who are unspecialised in the veterinary field.
